How to Exhibit with Arbor Gallery
We prefer to receive submissions by email. You can submit your work by sending up to 20 jpegs along with an artist’s CV and artist’s statement. In your email, please indicate which of the three exhibition options you are applying for (Solo, Group or Artist-membership) and, if applicable, include the name of the group exhibition in the subject line.
If you send a link to your website, please make it a direct link to the images you wish to submit rather than a link to your home page. Submit your work to: contact(at)arborgallery.org - replacing (at) with @. We regret that we cannot accept submissions by mail or hand delivery. Submissions must be by email and include images in .jpeg format.
Artists with a strong exhibition record and suitable body of work who are applying for a solo exhibition may be eligible for an Exhibtion Assistance grant from the Ontario Arts Council. Contact the curator for details (see contact info below).
There are three ways to exhibit with us:
Group Exhibition
A group exhibition can be a group organized by the gallery or by a group of artists who decide to organize their own show. Please get in touch if you have a group show you'd like to propose. The Gallery is currently seeking Artists for the following group shows in 2012.
EROS 2013: exhibition of Erotic Art
Gifted 2013 : Annual small-works Christmas exhibtion
Artist-Membership
Artist-Members are invited to join by the curator and you can send in a submission of your work to be considered for membership. Artist-members participate in the group shows organized by the gallery and can exhibit their work in solo shows as well.
Membership fees are $40 for the year and Artist members also make a commitment to gallery sit or volunteer with the gallery one day per month. For each month of volunteering, artist-members pay a reduced rate of commission on their sales. Please contact us at: contact(at)arborgallery.org - replacing (at) with @ - to submit your work and to obtain a copy of our Artist’s Membership application.
Solo Exhibition
A solo exhibition is for a period of two weeks. The gallery provides the exhibition space for the show and use of the gallery's tools for installation and kitchen (including 50 wineglasses) for the vernissage. The Gallery staffs the exhibition, gives the artist a copy of our mailing lists, and a press list. We also purchase an ad to promote the show in the local paper.
The artist is responsible for hanging the show, mailing costs for their own mailing list, and shares in the costs of the vernissage. It is possible to share your show with one or more artists for a group exhibition.
Contact us at: contact(at)arborgallery.org - replacing (at) with @ - to submit your work and to obtain a copy of our contract.
