We know, from listening to people in the community, and from the 2000+ visitors each year, that the gallery is well loved and well used. But it simply is not viable as a business. We sell $7000 worth of art and jewellery each year, and retain 30% - our commission - on this amount. The art workshops we offer merely break even. It is not possible to cover the gallery’s overhead with the revenue we generate and we have trimmed every expense to the absolute minimum.
We present a full-year of art exhibitions of amazing artwork by over 90 artists from the area and beyond each year. We offer many art courses, workshops and special events for the community. We also support the visual artists of the area and help them to grow professionally. All of these activities come with a cost. It costs $136 per day, 365 days per year to run Arbor Gallery - just under $50,000 per year. If the gallery is to survive, we must raise at least $30,000 by the end of 2012.
We’re seeking major donors who are willing to make an annual donation to keep Arbor Gallery alive. 30 people, donating $1000 each would bring us to our goal. Recognition, in the form of your company logo on our website, sponsor’s wall, and on our printed promotional material are some of the ways we will thank you for your gift. Individual donors can be listed on our donor’s wall - starting with annual gifts of $250. Donors also receive a thank-you gift, ask us for more information today!
