My earliest textile memory is that of the Satin binding on my crib blanket. I was fascinated by the tiny pleats at the edge of my mother's slip, the vivid colour combinations used in the squares of my crocheted vest. I won sewing competitions in high school, earning pin-money by dressmaking. After university in Montreal, I moved to my farm near Prospect.
I have a deep connection to my agricultural roots and to nature as I feel the changes through the seasons: in the skies, in the air, in the fields and barnyard, and in my gardens. Having nurtured three children, and raised pets and farm animals, I have an authentic experience of the circle of life, of our interdependence, and of the struggles in the natural world.
